Obituary for Milton Robert Jones, III
Milton Robert “M.R.” Jones, III, 80, of Chesnee, S.C. and formerly of Lancaster, S.C., passed away, Friday afternoon, December 10, 2021, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital, Spartanburg, S.C. Born in Oliver Springs, TN, he was the son of the late Milton Robert Jones, Jr. and Frances Julia Huddleston Jones. Mr. Jones received his BA in History from the University of South Carolina and retired as a supervisor in the engineering department of Springs Industries. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Harriet Lindsey Jones; 2 children, Julie Jones Horton of Easley, S.C. and Robbie Jones and his wife, Angie of Chapin, S.C.; 3 grandchildren, Chandler Horton, Will Jones and Lainey Jones and 2 sisters, Frankie Whitley and her husband, George of Ft. Lawn, S.C. and Carol St. Clair of Rock Hill, S.C.
A memorial service to remember his life will be announced later.
