Ronnie David Hicks, age 66 of Lugoff, S.C., passed away Saturday morning, December 13, 2025, at MUSC Medical Center Downtown, Columbia, S.C. Born in Charlotte, N.C. He was the son of the late Charles Boston Hicks, Jr. and Rosalie Kaylor Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a diehard Michigan Wolverine fan and enjoyed classic cars.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Susan Horton Hicks; 2 brothers, Carroll Franklin “Frankie” Hicks and Charles Boston “Chuckie” Hicks, III and his wife, Debbie; 3 sisters, Robin Hicks Coffey and her husband, Tony, Debra Hicks Woods and Enola Hicks Eanes; his mother-in-law, Brenda Stover Horton; 2 brothers-in-law, James Stephen Horton and his wife, Cindy and William Todd Horton and his husband Randy Willson; his sister-in-law, Kim Hicks and several special nieces and nephews who called him “RonRon”. The Horton, Powers and Stover families who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Michael Hicks, his brother-in-law, Jackie Kenneth Woods, sister-in-law, Judy Sossaman Hicks and his father-in-law, James William “Jimmy” Horton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held immediately following the visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Scott Robinson will officiate.
The family is gathering at the home of his mother-in-law, 7009 Beecher Horton Road, Heath Springs, S.C.
Ronnie had great respect for the military in memory of his Dad, in honor of his family that served and his close friend, Paul Gardner. Donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301.
