Obituary for Earl Glenn Austin, Sr.
Earl Glenn Austin, Sr., age 88 of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Friday, July 22, 2022. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late Virgil Austin and Florrie Roach Austin. Mr. Austin retired from the DuPont Company and was a faithful member of Abney Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and a good round of golf. Mr. Austin also served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his son, Rev. Mitchell Dale Austin and his wife, Pat of Kershaw, S.C.; 5 grandchildren, Mark Hunter (Shari), Laura Austin (Rafael), Chris Austin, Danielle Brown (Joseph) and Kyle Austin; 9 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Austin of Kershaw, S.C.; 2 brothers, J.V. Austin and Richard Austin and a sister, Louise A. Catledge all of Kershaw, S.C. In addition to his wife, Inez Hinson Austin who preceded him in death in 2016, he was preceded in death by his son, Earl Glenn Austin, Jr. and 3 brothers, Bobby Austin, Ernest Austin and James Austin.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Austin will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in the sanctuary of Abney Baptist Church. Rev. Scott Robinson will officiate. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Abney Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church Family Life Center and other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law.
