Lisa Deanna Huckabee, 63, of Bethune, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning, October 21, 2026, with her family and her dear friend, Erica, her prayer warrior by her side.
Lisa was born on January 1, 1963, in Camden, South Carolina, to the late Paul Laborn Huckabee and Barbara Marlin McQuage Huckabee. She held the distinction of being the first baby born in Kershaw County Memorial Hospital in Camden in 1963.
A graduate of Bethune High School, Lisa also attended Columbia College and Coker College. She was the former owner of Huckabee School of Performing Arts, where she shared her love of dance by teaching students of all ages. Her passion for helping others extended to her community, where she volunteered with the Bethune Fire and Rescue Squad. She also devoted more than 10 years to coordinating and assisting with the Bethune Chicken Strut and Talent Show, giving her time and talents to events that brought her community together.
Lisa found joy in the beauty of life, especially spending time in her yard and tending to her flower gardens. Her Asiatic lilies were particularly beautiful, reflecting the care and love she poured into everything she did. She had a generous heart and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Above all else, Lisa treasured her family. She often said that her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. To her beloved grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Le Le,” a special name that reflected the love and closeness they shared. Her family was her greatest blessing, and the love she gave them will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Lisa is survived by her daughter, Savannah Bree McAllister, and her husband, Zach; her five grandchildren, Landon McAllister, Meredith Outen, Laine Joyner, Waylon McAllister, and Preston McAllister; her two sisters, Kim Fulmer and her husband, John, and Jill Wolfe and her husband, Kip; her brother, Paul Huckabee, Jr., affectionately known as “Poppy,” and his wife, Wendy; and her former husband, Ron LeBeau, who remained devoted to her and faithfully by her side through the end. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Those who held a special place in Lisa’s life include her friend and caretaker, Erica Hinson; her childhood friends, Mary Alice Cagle, Tammy Couick, and Kathy Elmore Prescott; and her dear friends, Charlie and Bonnie Baker.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bajwa and the staff at McLeod Cancer Center, Dr. Jona and the staff at McLeod Pulmonology, and the nurses and staff on the seventh floor of McLeod Health in Florence for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Lisa.
A service celebrating Lisa’s life will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Bethune Presbyterian Church, located at 206 North Blackmon Street, Bethune, South Carolina 29009. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Bethune Woman’s Club, located at 200 King Street East, Bethune, South Carolina 29009.
