Obituary for Annie "Grace" T. Croxton
Mrs. Annie “Grace” Truesdale Croxton, 92, of Kershaw, widow of W. Matheson “Monkey” Croxton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Stoneboro, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Hettie Peach Truesdale.

She was a member of Hanging Rock United Methodist Church in Kershaw.

A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 1, at 11:00 o’clock a.m. at Beaver Creek Cemetery, 1928 Kershaw Country Club Rd., Kershaw, where she will be buried beside her husband. Visitation will be in the Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church sanctuary beginning at 10:00 o’clock a.m., prior to the service. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Eugene C. Rollins.

During WWII, while her husband was serving in the Navy, she remained in Kershaw and worked at Hayes Drug Store. After many years as a homemaker, she entered the workforce again where she served as a buyer for Beaty Drug Store in Rock Hill.

After their children were grown, she and her husband moved to Liberty Hill where they remained until 1987, when they moved to her husband’s boyhood home in Kershaw.

An avid life-long reader, Mrs. Croxton also loved growing flowers and working in her “pool table” vegetable garden.

In recent years, Mrs. Croxton became a resident of Brookdale Chandler Place in Rock Hill, returning to Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster where she resided at the time of her death.

She is survived by daughters, Sylvia Hudson (Jim) of Liberty Hill and Susan Croxton of Fort Mill; two brothers, G.C. Truesdale, Jr. of Heath Springs and Mike Truesdale of Stoneboro; two grandsons, Matt Hudson of Columbia and Travis Broom of Fort Mill and two great granddaughters, Skyler Hudson and Maddie Broom.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Croxton was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth ”Lib” Hendrix, Teresa “Te” Fletcher and Nelrae Bostic.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Croxton may be made to Hanging Rock United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 146, Kershaw, SC 29067 or Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 170, Liberty Hill, SC 29074.
