Judy Vincent Catoe

Judy Vincent Catoe, 74, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away Thursday evening, November 5, 2026, at McLeod Health in Cheraw.

Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Sidney Ben Vincent and Margaret Taylor Vincent. Judy earned an associate degree from the University of South Carolina–Lancaster and was a former employee of the Lancaster County Assessor’s Office. She was also a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church.

Judy had a special love for animals, especially dogs and cats, and enjoyed caring for them. She also loved going out to eat, with 521 Filling Station being one of her favorite places. Judy never met a stranger and truly enjoyed talking with people. She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and always enjoyed making new connections.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by the aunt and uncle who raised her, Mendel Hugh and Frances V. Hammond; her husband, Harold Thomas Catoe; and a special brother, Jim Vincent.

Judy is survived by her brother, William Vincent of Westville, S.C.; two sisters, Gayle Hunter of Lancaster, S.C., and Jackie Vincent of Westville, S.C.; and a special niece and caregiver, Lynda T. Watson, and her husband, Jeff, of Kershaw, S.C. She is also survived by several other nieces and a nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Also special to Judy was Bryant Neal, owner of 521 Filling Station, who faithfully delivered meals to her and showed her such kindness.

No formal services will be held. Judy will be laid to rest privately in Kershaw City Cemetery.
