Obituary for Carl William Miles
Carl William “C.W.” Miles, 93, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Saturday evening, October 9, 2021, at Legacy of Camden, Camden, S.C. Born in McBee, S.C., he was a son of the late Archie Alford Miles and Nettie Louisa Snipes Miles. Mr. Miles retired from the US Postal service. He was a faithful member of Buffalo Baptist Church, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and was a member of the Curtis Vincent Sunday School class. He also was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his children, Jody Williams and her husband, Charles, Mary Broome and her husband, Ralph, Carla Kaufman and her husband, Tom and Rev. Bart Miles and his wife, Wendy; 9 grandchildren, Michelle (Torstein) Braaten, Stacey (Ron) Ferris, Phil (Christy) Williams, Janna (Danny) Wharton, Dr. Susan “Nicki” Munn, David (Meredith) Broome, Brent (Courtney) Kaufman, Stephen (Misty) Miles and Eric Miles and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Truesdale Miles.
A funeral service to remember and honor his life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, in the sanctuary of Buffalo Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. The Revs. Bart Miles, Larry Humphries and Mr. Charles Williams will officiate. Masks are encouraged for those attending the service.
