The family will hold a service to celebrate the life of Jerald Bennett Boatright, 78, of Lancaster, SC, at 4:00 o’clock p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, Lancaster, SC. Rev. Mitch Ingram will officiate. A private burial will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mr. Boatright died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at his home. Born in Waxhaw, NC, he was a son of the late James Bennett and Bleeka Rae Mullis Boatright. Mr. Boatright was a diesel mechanic and a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. He also enjoyed gardening and loved his church and pastor.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Moore Boatright of the home; 3 sisters, Alice (Bill) Redwine, Dixie (Delano) Patterson and Peggy Gilais all of Waxhaw, NC; 3 brothers, Bonnie (Vickie) Boatright of Marshville, NC, Danny (Nancy) Boatright of Waxhaw, NC and Neil (Willie) Boatright of Locust, NC; his dog, Snuggles and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 3:00 to 4:00 o’clock p.m. at the church and other times at the home.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Boatright may be made to Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2036, Lancaster, SC 29720.
