Zeata Frances Self McGraw, 79, of Kershaw, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at her home. She was born on March 19, 1946, in Jefferson, South Carolina, to the late Perry Thomas Self and LouOla Johnson Self.
A woman of faith and strength, Zeata was a devoted member of Haile Goldmine Baptist Church and worked many years in the textile industry before retiring.
She is survived by her son, Karry F. Smith (Cindy); her beloved grandchildren, Shannon McLaurin (Josh), Kayla Harris (Tyler), and Stevie Matthew Smith; and great-grandchildren Layla Altizer, Reya McLaurin, Reese McLaurin, Kinsley Harris, Carson Harris, and Violet Harris. Also surviving are her brother, Wint Self; stepdaughter, Debbie Lambert; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Zeata was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond McGraw, and her son, Stevie Greg Smith.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to her nephew, Chester Bradley, and dear friends Susan Byrd and Pauline Hinson for the compassionate care and love shown to Zeata in her final days.
A funeral service to celebrate Zeata’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 East Hilton Street, Kershaw, SC 29067. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Kershaw City Cemetery.
