William Richard Dease

William Richard Dease, 88, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away peacefully at his home on Friday afternoon, February 13, 2026. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Chalmers Dease and Mary Ethel Taylor Dease. He retired after many dedicated years of service with Lehigh Steel Company.

Mr. Dease was a faithful member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities. He and his wife were also active in numerous missions, missions trips, disaster relief missions, Youth Serve and Senior Adult mission trips to Lynch, Kentucky faithfully serving others through their church.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn B. Dease of the home; his son, Randy Dease (Delores); two daughters, Brenda Rhoden (Kenny) and LuAnne Sellers (Randy), all of Kershaw, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Angie Roberts (Mike) of Kershaw; and a stepson, Andy Broughton of Columbia, S.C. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by a very special extended family, the family of Rev. Bobby James.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Johnson Dease; two brothers, Claude Dease and Roy Dease; and one sister, Annie Mae Reeves.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and at other times at the home.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary, immediately following the visitation. Rev. Bobby James will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery with committal rites conducted by Rev. Hunter Frye.

Serving as pallbearers will be, J.R. Holden, Jonathan Roberts, Noah Roberts, Justin Sellers, Timothy Sellers and Brandon Gainey. An honorary pallbearer will be Jason Dease.
