Thomas Jennings Welsh, Jr.

Thomas Jennings “Tommy” Welsh, Jr., 69, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Born in Lancaster, S.C., Tommy was the son of the late Thomas Jennings “Tom” Welsh, Sr. and Billie Marclene Morgan Welsh. He retired from Conbraco Industries in Pageland, S.C., after many years of dedicated service and was currently employed at Walmart. Tommy was a faithful member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, but above all, he cherished his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud Paw-Paw, and caring brother.

Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Payne Welsh; his daughter, Jennifer Leigh Reese of Kershaw, S.C.; three grandchildren, Natalee Ann Reese, Lucas Edwin Reese, and Jace Rylan Hegler; two great-granddaughters, Londyn Reese and Leilani Reese; his sister, Mary Ann Hinson and her husband, Larry, of Aiken, S.C.; his niece, Beth Hinson Martin and her husband, Josh; and his nephew, Matthew Hinson.

A memorial service celebrating Tommy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

A private family burial will be held at a later date in Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
