Thomas Archie “Tommy” Baker, age 73, of Lancaster, S.C. passed away, Friday morning, October 3, 2025, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, SC. Tommy as he was known to his family and friends was born on February 11, 1952, in Lancaster, SC. His parents were the late Archie and Mary Louise Bailey Baker. For many years he was a butcher working at Winn-Dixie, BI-LO and Food Lion grocery stores and later in life he became a door and window fabricator.
He loved to build things and enjoyed fishing and boating. Mr. Baker never missed the opportunity to watch a good wresting match or football game. He was a talented drum player and a history buff. He cherished the time he sat on his porch and watched the outdoors around him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Elaine Cooper Baker of the home; three daughters, Nickie Bailey and her husband Mike, Dena K. Baker and Tammy Outen all of Lancaster, SC ; seven grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Ashli, Halee, Kendal, Breana and Noah; four great grandchildren, Joel, Jaycee, Emberleigh and Fynnleigh and one on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Baker and his wife, Angie of North Myrtle Beach, SC and his sister, Judy Estes and her husband, Lynn of Fort Lawn, SC.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
