Shawn Dale Tackett, age 47 of Myrtle Beach, S.C., beloved husband of Carla M. Tackett entered into rest on Saturday, November 16, 2024, on the Waccamaw River doing what he loved, being on the water fishing.
Shawn was a native of Middletown, Ohio, the grandson of the late Wilma Jean and Jimmy Dale Tackett and the late Irma Jean and Edward Wolf and had made Myrtle Beach his home for the past 25 years. He worked for Waccamaw Management at Litchfield Retreat for the past 7 years and before then worked in the sign business at Seaboard Signs and Engraving. He was a loving husband, father and friend and most of all, a fisherman. Shawn could be found most every Saturday with his fishing buddies or his father somewhere in the state looking for that big catch. As his children were growing up, he was always there to offer his support whether it be in coaching or cheering on their teams or fixing their toys or cars. Above all, Shawn loved his family and was there for each one of them no matter what the need or time of day.
A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Goldfinch Funeral Home, Carolina Forest Chapel, 325 Hinson Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Victoria Marie Howard (Ty Cox), of Myrtle Beach, SC and his son, Blake Andrew Etterle (Anastasiia) of Wilmington, NC; his parents, Larry Dale and Dee Wolf Tackett of Swansea, SC; his brother Chad Jeremy Tackett (Erin) of Sandy Run, SC; his nephews, Gabe and Aiden Tackett both of Sandy Run, SC; his niece, Mary Catherine Casella Ramos (Austin) of Augusta, GA; his aunts, Sheila Robinson (Mark) of Middletown, OH and Mary Jo Harrison (Mike) of Franklin, IN; his uncles, Doug Wolf of Venice, FL, Vince Wolf and Jeff Tackett both of Middletown, OH; his brother in law, Phil Hydrick (Lora) of Grovetown, GA; and his father in law, Phil Hydrick of Myrtle Beach, SC. As well as a host of cousins, his best friend and fishing buddy Jeremy Wooten and his four-legged companion, Mocha.
