Sandra Melinda "Sandy" Hunter

Sandra Melinda “Sandy” Hunter, age 63 of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Tuesday evening, July 22, 2025, at McCoy Memorial Nursing Center, Bishopville, S.C. Born in Camden, S.C. she was the daughter of Linda Phillips Newman and the late Robert Wayne Beckham and stepdaughter of the late Nelson Newman. She was a graduate of North Central High School and former employee of Springs Industries. Sandy loved making and sending cards. She also enjoyed reading and coloring.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother; her son, Cody (Amber) McPherson; her grandson, Spencer McPherson; 2 sisters, Cathy Beckham (Rosemary) and Melissa (Anthony) Curtis. She is also survived by her niece, Ripley Curtis, her aunts Judy Phillips and Jessie Hunter and numerous cousins.

A graveside inurnment service will be held Friday morning, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 o’clock a.m. in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson, S.C. The Revs. Mitchell Austin and Terry Corder will officiate.

The family will greet friends following the service at the home of her mother.

Memorial remembrances may be sent to Center Grove Baptist Church where she was a member, 6028 Center Grove Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 2140 McBee Highway, Jefferson, S.C. 29718.

Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
