Ruby June Brazzell

Ruby June Roach Brazzell, age 90, of the Elgin community, Lancaster, S.C. passed away, Friday, September 5, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Kershaw County on August 11, 1935. Her parents were the late Otis W. Roach and Mary Sue Roach. Mrs. Brazzell was a long-time employee of Springs Industries dedicating 40 years to the company. Following her work at Springs Industries she worked at Brooklyn Springs Elementary School for several years. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Lancaster, S.C. Mrs. Roach enjoyed playing golf and cheering for her Miami Dolphins football team.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Donald R. Brazzell; her son, Robert “Mike” Brazzell and his wife, Jeannie; 2 daughters, Donna K. Penegar and her husband, Bobby and Crystal A. Brazzell ; her brother, Harvey Lynn Roach; six grandchildren, Christopher Ray (Kandy) Brazzell, Samantha Crenshaw Chilcoat, Jonathan Michael (Bridgett) Brazzell, Jessica Penegar (Josh) Usher and Michelle Penegar (B.J.) Catoe; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren on the way.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, Lancaster, S.C. Rev. Tim Lattimore and Rev. Donnie Birchfield will conduct the service.

The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Brazzell may be made to Agape Care South Carolina Hospice, 311-B North Main Street, Lancaster, S.C. 29720.
