Robert Lee Gibson, II

Robert Lee Gibson, II, age 71 of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Saturday morning, August 9, 2025, at MUSC Health-Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Corbin, KY, he was a son of the late Robert Duke Gibson, III and Shirley Meadows Griffin. He was a former forklift operator for Charlotte Concrete Company. He loved playing the guitar. He also enjoyed watching western and cowboy movies. He was fascinated with motorcycles. Mr. Gibson was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

He is survived by 5 children, Robert Lee Gibson, IV, Dallas Lee (Sunshine) Gibson, James Lee Gibson, Richard (Elizabeth) Jackson and Jason Jackson; his sister, Sue (Dallas) Martin; his brother, Johnny Stephens; several grandchildren and 1 great grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Frances Lee Fountain Gibson; his son, Jay Oxendine and 4 siblings, Brenda Deese, Debbie Sikes, Sharon Deese and Clayton Stephens.

The family will greet friends, Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Crossroads Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C.

A service to remember and celebrate Mr. Gibson’s life will be held in the church sanctuary on Thursday immediately following the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Dean Sisco and Pastor Abbie Wheeler will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, 7393 Croxton Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
