Ricky Darrell Montgomery, Jr., 47, of Kershaw, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Born in Lancaster, South Carolina, he was the son of Ricky Darrell Montgomery, Sr. and Helen Christine "Chris" Watson Walden. Darrell was employed by Aalberts.
He enjoyed riding four-wheelers and working on cars. He also loved cooking on the grill and his smoker, always finding joy in preparing meals for family and friends. Above all, Darrell cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children. He was also a devoted South Carolina Gamecock fan.
In addition to his parents, Darrell is survived by his father, Ricky Darrell Montgomery, Sr. and his wife, Lou Ellen; his mother, Helen Christine "Chris" Hegler Walden and her husband, Mike; his son, Bronson Lee Montgomery; his daughter, Keely Marie Montgomery (Jimmy); a granddaughter, Ceely Marie Hancock, expected soon; two sisters, Cary Montgomery Medlin (Charlie) and Erica Faulkenberry (Scott); one brother, Neil Howie (Michal); his paternal grandmother, Lillie Mae Montgomery; his uncle, Rev. Todd Montgomery and his wife, Sharon; his aunt, Shirley Davis and her husband, Jay; and his nieces and nephews, Kinzie Medlin, Sammie Howie, Dylan Howie, Patrick Howie, Ezra Howie, Kiya Robertson, and Charlee Robertson and cousins, Kristen Montgomery (Taylor), Micah Rollins (Brandon) and Meghan Rau (Tim).
A private family service will be held in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, South Carolina.
