Phyllis June Knight

Phyllis June Fowler Knight, age 89, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Born in Newport News, Virginia she was the daughter of the late John Wilburn Fowler and Garnette Skinner Fowler.

Mrs. Knight was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around her family and faith. A loving homemaker and caregiver, she selflessly dedicated much of her life to caring for her late daughter, always placing the needs of others before her own. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping and collecting rabbit figurines, a hobby that brought her much happiness through the years. She was also a faithful member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and her relationship with the Lord.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, William Donald “Bill” Knight, Jr.; two grandsons, Derek Knight and William Christopher (Brittany Nicole) Knight; six beloved great-grandchildren, Hunter Jaxon Knight, Isabella Rae Knight, Zayden Spinks, Hannah Ray Knight, Noah Knight, and William Alexander Knight; her sister, Mrs. Calvin “Bobbie” Dewitt, II; and a number of loving nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. William Donald “Don” Knight, Sr., and her daughter, Deborah June “Debbie” Knight.

A private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
