Obituary for Frances Holland Lucas
Funeral services for Frances Holland “Fran” Lucas, 77, of Kershaw, will be conducted Wednesday, August 22, 2018, from the sanctuary of Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 201 North Cleveland Street, Kershaw, at 3:00 o’clock p.m. Rev. Scott Mosley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and visitors, Wednesday, August 22, prior to the service beginning at 2:00 o’clock p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Lucas may be made to Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 611, Kershaw, SC 29067.
Mrs. Lucas died Saturday, August 18, 2018. Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Frank M. and Rebecca “Beck” McPherson Holland. Mrs. Lucas retired from the Lancaster School District having taught for 36 years. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and traveling with her friends. Most importantly, she loved her family and the time spent with them. Mrs. Lucas was a graduate of Kershaw High School, Columbia College and a member of Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Susan L. (Rick) Todd of Columbia, 2 sons; Ernest Boag “Ernie” Lucas, III of Kershaw and Scott (Kristen) Lucas of Charleston; 3 grandchildren, Mary Holland Todd of Columbia and William Marshall “Liam” Lucas and Mallory Quinn Lucas, both of Charleston; her sister, Peggy Holland Bryson of Kershaw and many nieces, nephews and beloved family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Boag “E.B.” Lucas, Jr.
