Obituary for William Dixon
William Dixon, 74, of Lancaster, passed away, Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Atrium Health Main, Charlotte, N.C. He was born in Kershaw and married to Shirley Kennington Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a brick mason. He loved to work and tend to his horses. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Cynthia Darlene “Cindy” Rutledge and her husband, Louie of Heath Springs, Steve Sistare of Lancaster, Stacia Sowell and her husband, John of Marshall, N.C. and Sandra Lee Dixon of Camden; 5 grandchildren, Shelly Chandler, Cassy Sowell, Jessie Neal, Waylon Rutledge and Dylan Dixon; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Dixon of Camden and 2 sisters, Eula Mae Elliott and Docia Collins both of Camden. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lewis Dixon and David L. Dixon and a sister, Jessie Lee Knight.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, July 15, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.
A service to remember Mr. Dixon’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., following the visitation in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. The Revs. Larry Plyler, Larry Linderman and Mr. Barry Estridge will officiate. A private family burial will be held in Lancaster Memorial Park.
