Nicholas Dale Horton

A service to celebrate the life of Nicholas Dale Horton, age 46, of Bethune, S.C. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. The Rev. Matthew Dickerson will officiate. The burial will follow in PROVIDENCE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, 3334 Providence Road, Kershaw, S.C.

The family will greet friends, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Nicholas passed away Friday evening, August 29, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland, Columbia, S.C. He was born in Camden, S.C. on June 2, 1979, to Roger Gerald Horton and the late Deborah Payne Thomas. He was a graduate of North Central High School and was employed with ATI, Monroe, N.C. Nicholas attended Shamrock Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoors man. He loved to rabbit hunt with his beagles. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Leah Freeman Horton; his son, Lawson N. Horton; his father and mother, Roger and Cheryl Horton; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Thomas and Judy Freeman; his brother, Brock Kennington and his wife, Kim; his sister, Tracy Catoe and her husband, Randy; his brother-in-law, Tommy Freeman and his wife, Courtney; his sister-in-law, Julie Miller and her husband, Miles, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends that will miss him dearly. In addition to his birth mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Heather Horton.
