Mildred Stroud Crook

Mildred Stroud Crook, age 85, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Friday afternoon, August 15, 2025, in Heath Springs Residential Center, Heath Springs, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William Thomas “W.T.” Stroud and Brinnie Mary Jane Jenkins Stroud. She was a former employee of Springs Industries. She also was a longtime employee of Kershaw Bantam Chef. Mrs. Crook enjoyed playing solitaire and working work search puzzles. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Crook Gallman; her son Michael Ray (Carolyn) Crook; 2 grandchildren, Melissa Gallman and Kayla Ross; 2 great grandchildren, James and Sophia; her brother, Larry (June) Stroud and her sister, Nancy Starnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Crook; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Stroud and 3 brothers, William Calvin Stroud, Tommy Stroud and Crawford Stroud.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C. The Rev. Todd Montgomery will officiate. The burial will follow in the cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service in the church Fellowship Hall.
