Melissa Anne Jones

Melissa Anne Rollings Jones, lovingly known to many as “Big Mama,” age 47, of Lancaster, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Atrium Health Union in Monroe, North Carolina.

Born in Lancaster, she was the cherished daughter of the late George William Rollings Jr. and Carol Anne McCoy. Melissa dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. Her greatest joy came from caring for those she loved and her family.

Melissa had a creative spirit and found peace and happiness in crocheting, often crafting special pieces for family and friends. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She was also an enthusiastic fan of Chris Brown’s music, which added rhythm and energy to her days.

Affectionately called “Big Mama,” she embraced that title with pride, and her heart immeasurably generous.

Left to cherish her precious memories is her devoted husband, Lawrence Robert “Larry” Jones, Jr., affectionately known as “Big Papa”; her four beloved children, Taylor Sky Jones, Savannah Star Jones, Landon Garret Jones, and Dianna Sun Jones; her three adored grandchildren, Corey, Cody, Jr., and Noah; her brother, Jonathan Rollings; and her sister, Amanda Kay McCoy. She also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close.

A memorial service to remember and celebrate Melissa’s life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home in Kershaw. Rev. Todd Robinson will officiate.

The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.
