Mary Alicia Ogburn Hinson, age 73, of Lancaster, S.C., passed away, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Kershaw County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late John William Ogburn and Mary Myrtle “Merckie” Bradley Ogburn. She was a graduate of Mount Pisgah High School and a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C. She was the former owner of Hinson’s Flowers and Gifts in Jefferson, S.C. Alicia was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed putting together puzzles, word searches, decorating and going out with her best friend, Kay Price.
She is survived by her 3 children, Tracy Hinson and his wife, Kristie, Jamie Hinson and his wife, Marian and Rebecca Hinson: 6 grandchildren, Tyler Hinson, Breanna (Timothy) Sellers, Courtney Ghent, Victoria Hinson, Hunter Hinson and David Douglas; 3 great grandchildren, Mason Ghent, Maddilyn Ghent and Kolton “Kolt” Sellers; 2 brothers, Donald Ogburn and his wife, Linda and Deril Ogburn and her sister, Patricia Snipes and her husband, Clifford.
A private service to celebrate her life will be held in the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Family Life Center.
