Mark Landon Hicks

Mark Landon Hicks, age 56, of Lancaster, S.C. and formerly of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Monday morning, August 11, 2025, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was the son of the late Harry Roosevelt Hicks and Shelby Williams Hicks. Mark was a graduate of Lancaster High School and a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C.

Mark, prior to moving to the West Barr Street Residence Home in Lancaster, S.C., enjoyed riding his bicycle around Kershaw visiting with everyone he met. He also loved to do arts and crafts, swim and color. Mark enjoyed going out to dinner and to the movies, shopping, and bowling. He also like to watch television with the boys at the home. Mark looked forward every year to dress up and attend "Night to Shine" prom. He participated in Special Olympics where he won several gold metals at events.

He is survived by his brother, Britt Hicks and 2 nieces, Brianna Barrett and her husband, Carson and Braylee Hicks.

The family will greet friends, on Wednesday afternoon August 13, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C.

The funeral service to remember and celebrate Mark’s life will be held immediately following the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel. The Rev. Dr. T. Jason Moss will officiate. The burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
