Margie Williams Reese

Margie Williams Reese, age 89, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Born and raised in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late James Lucas Williams and Minnie Connell Williams.

Mrs. Reese was well known in the community as the co-owner of Reese’s Shell Station, where she spent many years serving others with kindness, humility, and a warm smile. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, especially the children who visited the station, always offering a sucker or a piece of candy along with a kind word. She found joy in the simple act of giving and was happiest when sharing with others. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and love for people left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Above all, Margie treasured her family and took great pride in each of them. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love and support were constant in the lives of those she loved. She was also a faithful member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, where her faith and servant’s heart were evident throughout her life.

She is survived by her son, Bryan Reese and his wife, Tammy; five grandchildren, Will Reese, Natalee Reese, Lucas Reese, Devin Walden, and Tyler (Brittany) Walden; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Redick; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Williams and Betty Williams; and one brother-in-law, Jerry Bradley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Gerald Reese; eight brothers, Horace Williams, James Lucas Williams, Jr., John Carl Williams, Eddie Williams, “Snookie” Williams, Ralph Williams, Henry Frank Williams, and James E. “Jimmy” Williams; and one sister, Marguerite W. Bradley.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. T. Jason Moss will officiate. Burial will follow in Kershaw City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the burial at the cemetery.
