Laura Denise Catoe Carnes, age 56 of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Friday morning, August 30, 2024, at her home. Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was a daughter of Annie Ruth Snipes Catoe and the late James Bobby Catoe. She was a homemaker. Laura loved working in her flowers, going fishing, playing bingo and visiting with her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, Bella. Her favorite saying was “Blessed to the max and I can’t complain”.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Heber Nathan Carnes, Jr.; 3 sons, John Ervin Carnes, II (AKA) “Korn” and his wife, Chelsea, James William Carnes and his wife, Kayla and Heber Nathan Carnes, II (AKA) “Beboo”; 6 grandchildren, Brian, Booke, Jacob, Henry, K.J. and Kree and 3 sisters, Martha Pate, Sandra Dawkins and Angela Tucker. She was preceded in death by her father, James Bobby Catoe; her grandson, Remy and other relatives.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening, September 4, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. in BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER, 105 North Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. and also at the home of her son, John, 3814 Gates Ford Road, Kershaw, S.C.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held Thursday afternoon, September 5, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. in BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER. Rev. Larry Humphries will officiate.
Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral home, Kershaw, S.C.
