Julian Norris Mcentire, Sr.

A graveside service for Julian Norris “Buddy” McEntire, Sr., 95 of Kershaw, SC will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015, in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Mr. McEntire died Thursday, May 28, at White Oak Manor-Lancaster. Born in Newberry, SC, he was a son of the late Johnny Norris and Florence Boland McEntire. He retired as the manager of Winn-Dixie. Mr. McEntire also served in the US Army during World War II and was a faithful member of First Methodist Church. He was married to the late Bertha Mae McConnell McEntire. Surviving are two daughters, Julia (Wayne) Roberts of Kershaw, Lucy (Travis) Newman of Lugoff; two sons, Harrison (Martha) McEntire and Ed (Debbie) McEntire both of Kershaw; ten grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; a sister, Frances Bartley of Newberry. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Norris McEntire. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Memorials in memory of Mr. McEntire may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
