Judy A. Stone

Judy Ann Gardner Stone, 81, of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and formerly of the Flat Creek Community, Kershaw, S.C. passed away, April 21, 2025, in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Minor Gregory Gardner and Annie Gardner Holland.

Judy was a graduate of Flat Creek High School where she was an avid basketball player. Her love for sports continued throughout her life and she was an enthusiastic fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars football team. As a Naval military wife and reservist, she was devoted to her country. She served twenty years in the United States Navy Reserves, retiring at the rank of Chief. Her other passions included coin collecting, bingo, shag dancing, spending time with her friends and especially her dachshunds. She also was a former realtor in Florida.

Judy is survived by her sister, Nancy Sanders, nieces, Amy (Darryl) Pierce, Cindy (Phillip) Watts, and nephew, David (Angie) Sanders, along with many great nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary A. Stone, her daughters, Tracy and Tiffany Stone, along with a sister, Mary Louise Faile, and two brothers-in-law, Gary “Buddy “ Faile and James “Jimmy” Sanders.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. followed by burial with military honors in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 3737 Victory Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. Pastor David Sanders will officiate.
