Jack Douglas "Doug" Watson

Jack Douglas “Doug” Watson, age 80, of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Thursday evening, July 24, 2025, peacefully with his family by his side. Doug was born in Kershaw, S.C. on September 22, 1944. He was the son of the late Graham and Mary W. Watson. He was a graduate of Kershaw High School and attended the University of South Carolina at Lancaster. Mr. Watson was a member of First Baptist Church. He retired after a long career from E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company. Following his retirement, he was a Funeral Assistant with Baker Funeral Home for the past 22 years. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Dorman Watson; his son, Jeff Watson and his wife, Lynda; his grandson, Sidney Watson and his wife, Marybeth; his granddaughter, Mallory W. Hilliard and her husband, Hunter; 2 great grandchildren, Maverick Watson and Alice Hilliard; his sister, Myra W. West; his sister in law, Nancy S. Watson; his brother and sister in law, Dennis and Brenda Dorman and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Watson, 2 brothers, Buddie Watson and Billy Watson and his brother-in-law, Johnny West.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. The Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate.

The family will greet friends following the celebration of life service at the Conference Center.

A private family burial will be in Kershaw City Cemetery.

Memorial remembrances may be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mr. Watson.
