Jack Brown Pettit Jr., 64, of Heath Springs, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Born in Lancaster, SC, he was a son of the late Jack Brown Pettit Sr. and the late Fleta Chandler Pettit. He was a 1975 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and served in the South Carolina Army National Guard for 22 years. Jack was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Lancaster, SC. He retired as the owner and operator of Jack’s Mobile Home Movers. He was a devoted humble Christian that enjoyed helping others. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time at his pond.
The family will hold a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Antioch Baptist Church, Lancaster, SC. Rev. Dr. Trent McLauglin will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Denise Phillips Pettit of the home; son, Jack Brown Pettit III of the home; daughter, Nicole Pettit Gordon and husband, David of Heath Springs, SC; sister, Belinda Pettit Warfield and husband, Mike of Lancaster, SC; grandchildren, Cody, Braxton, and Chase Gordon; sister-in-law, Tammy Mothershed; father-in-law, John T. Phillips; nieces, Amber Mothershed, Taylor Mothershed, Krystle Mothershed, Crystal Pardue; nephew, Dalton Mothershed; several special friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 1734 Antioch Church Rd. Lancaster, SC 29720.
