J. R. Hargett

J.R. Hargett, 55, of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Friday evening, October 22, 2021, at his home. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late Lloyd Hargett and Susanne Outen Hargett. Mr. Hargett worked in the construction industry. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Dora Beth Reeves Hargett of Kershaw, S.C.; 3 daughters, Misty Hargett Doster and Lisa Hargett Center both of Lancaster, S.C. and Amy Hargett Skolmori and her spouse, Amber of Charlotte, N.C.; 3 grandchildren, Chole Center, Alexis Doster and Andrew “Heyboy” Doster; his sister, Emma Pegram of Rock Hill, S.C. and 2 brothers, Ronnie “Mack” Mackey and Sam Hargett both of Lancaster, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joann H. Duncan.

The family will hold a memorial service, Tuesday afternoon, October 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Dr. Jackie Jenkins will officiate.

Guests and friends may visit with the family following the service in the church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions in memory of Mr. Hargett may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
