Irma Loree Cauthen Huckabee

Irma Loree Cauthen Huckabee, 94, of Kershaw, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edgar Cauthen and Ethel Williams Cauthen. Mrs. Huckabee devoted many years to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Nursery Department at Kershaw County Memorial Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, reading novels, and working word search puzzles.

She is survived by her three daughters, Joyce H. (Bobby) Young, Gail H. (Gene) Branham, and Cheryl H. (Steve) Helms; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julius Milton Huckabee; her daughter, Glenda H. Singleton; her brothers, Edward Cauthen and Blake Cauthen; and her sister, Earlene Cauthen Phillips.

A graveside service celebrating Mrs. Huckabee's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Damascus United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4118 Damascus Church Road, Westville, South Carolina 29175. The Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate, and burial will follow in the cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.

Memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church, 2034 DeKalb School Road, Camden, South Carolina 29020, where Mrs. Huckabee was a faithful member, or to Damascus United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 506, Westville, South Carolina 29175.
