Floman Chester “Chet” Giverson, age 88 of Bethune, S.C. passed away, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center, Camden, S.C. Born in West Campton, New Hampshire, he was a son of the late Floman G. Giverson and Gloria Hildreth Adams.
Chet leaves behind his loving wife, Natalie Prince Giverson; 4 children, Arthur Giverson, (partner Cheryl Widay) Susan Matthias, (spouse Norman), Dale Giverson (spouse Darlene), and Steven Giverson (spouse Patty); ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Giverson.
Chet and Natalie were from New Hampshire and moved to New York and eventually to Victor, New York where they raised their family. Chet was a millwright and worked at Gleasons for many years. After leaving Gleasons he started his own machine business, Giverson Machine, for many years. He retired and built a beautiful home on Black Lake. He and Natalie moved to South Carolina in 2002 built their current home in Bethune, SC area. Chet was an outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Chet’s family and friends will miss his great storytelling and enthusiasm for life.
A gathering to remember his life will be held on Friday June 27, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C.
