Edwin DeBerry Deaver "Berry" Burley

Berry Burley was born on April 14, 1965. He met his sweet Jesus on the morning of July 21, 2025. He was the son of the late Richard Seymour Burley and Greta Deaver Burley.

A gentle soul and a love for others, Berry always put himself last, especially when it came to his wife, Renia. He loved her more than his own life and she loved him more than hers. From their very first date eleven years ago, they clicked and felt as though they had known each other for more than 20 years. Everyone whoever met them always thought that they had been married for such a long time. Their anniversary was March 24, and they just celebrated nine years together.

Berry was an extraordinary man who accomplished much in his short 60 years on this earth. He graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpting. His art was shown at Spirit Square in Charlotte, NC and his poetry was published worldwide. Berry was an accomplished musician, a master woods craftsman who loved nature and developed a life-long knowledge of survival skills. He worked everything from a railroad conductor to being a gourmet cook, to writing software. He worked with MCI and Cisco with the highest level of security. He loved his art and even wrote software for the recording artist, Phil Collins.

Berry loved the simple things of life and country living. He promised Renia before they got married, that he would make her laugh at least once a day and he did. When he made her laugh, he'd say, "I'm done for the day."

Berry loved all his farm animals. He was a good shepherd to them all. Their "babies" include Buddy, Jeeves, Smokey, Charley and all their kitties. Gardening was important to him as he believed in wholesome food for a fit body.

Berry leaves behind his wife, Renia, of nine years. They were soulmates and he was her world and there will never be another person to match his love, care and complete devotion to her! She thanks the Lord for the honor and privilege it was to be married to this extraordinary man.

There is also his daughter, Tracy and her husband, Eric, along with their children, Eric, Colin, Emily and Samuel. He loved them all very much and was so proud of them all.

His two stepsons and their wives, Wesley Tripp and Katrina and Jamie Tripp and Felicite, got to have laughs and share knowledge that Berry wanted to teach to anyone who would listen. They grew to know the man who their mother loved. He would be very proud of how they have been close to their mother's side during this time. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Baria and David Kirk.

His grandson, Austin, called him "Poppy". Berry showed him how to plant seeds and shared the outdoors in building a fire for the cowboy tub, listening to music and dancing with him.

He was a very patriotic man who loved his country and the principles upon which it was founded. Amongst all of Berry's many skills and accomplishments, Berry was a godly man. He loved his Lord more than anything and shared the love of the Lord with others.
