Graveside services for Ernest Boag “E.B.” Lucas, Jr. 74, of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Kershaw City Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Montgomery will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Mr. Lucas died Sunday, March 10, at his home. Born in the Flat Creek Community of Kershaw, he was the son of the late Ernest Boag, Sr. and Suelee Small Lucas. He retired from Dupont Company in 1996. “E. B.” loved the outdoors, fishing and playing golf. He was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Kershaw Golf Club and a life member of Abney Masonic Lodge # 211. Surviving are his wife; Frances Holland “Fran” Lucas of the home, a daughter; Susan Lucas Todd and her husband Rick of Columbia, 2 sons; Ernest Boag “Ernie” Lucas, III, of Kershaw, Scott Lucas and his wife Kristen of Charleston, 2 grandchildren; Mary Holland Todd and William Marshall “Liam” Lucas, 3 sisters; Lou Couch of Heath Springs, Suzanne Roberts of Kershaw, Judy Hinson of Kershaw and a brother; Odell “Nick” Lucas of Kershaw. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Thomas Lucas, Albertus ”Tootsie” Lucas, Carl Lucas and Wayne Lucas. Memorials may be made to Kershaw Golf Club, P.O. Box 145, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
