Earl Gandy
Kershaw, SC
Funeral services for Earl Gandy will be held Monday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Abney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Todd Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 25 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Abney Baptist Church, 5180 Bethune Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.
Mr. Gandy died Saturday, October 24. He was a son of the late Walter and Minnie Taylor Gandy. Mr. Gandy had retired from the DuPont Company. He was a mason and a US Army veteran. He was also an active member of Abney Baptist Church where he played the piano, was the choir director, sang in a quartet, and was a deacon. Mr. Gandy was predeceased by his first wife of 38 years, Lou Ella Gandy.
He leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Mary Gandy; children; Cindy Baggett and her husband, Henry of Oneida, TN, and Jeff Gandy and his wife Laura of Greenville, SC; grandsons, Joseph Baggett and his wife, Heather, of Somerset, Ky, Timothy Baggett of Oneida, TN; Joshua Gandy and Adam Gandy of Greenville, SC; brothers, Charles (Mary Lou) Gandy of Kershaw, SC, Carl (Vanetta) Gandy of Lancaster, SC, Otis Gandy of Kershaw, SC,and Ralph (Dunah) of Columbia, SC; sisters, Myrtle Gandy of Flat Creek, SC, Ruth (Gene) Lawhorne of Greensboro, NC, and Vera Lee Hunter of Lancaster, SC. Mr. Gandy was predeceased by brothers, Coleman Gandy and Ward Gandy; sisters, Maisey Hunter, Mary Belk, Jessie Hinson, and Essie Gardner.
