Doris Baker West

Doris Baker West, age 100, of Kershaw, S.C. passed away, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Karesh at Beechwood, Camden, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C. she was a daughter of the late Whiteford Baker and Lillie Roberts Baker. She was an employee of Springs Industries for over 40 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by 2 sons, Jesse West and his wife, Kathy of Lugoff, S.C. and Mike West of Kershaw, S.C.; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Angie) West, Adam (Hollie) West, Troy (Cassie) West and Erica (Mitch) Williams; 8 great grandchildren, Anna Claire West, Walker West, Lillian West, Joella West, Sawyer West, Lincoln West, Sutton West and Hudson Williams; 2 sisters, Betty Sue West of Bethune, S.C. and Shirley Connell of Kershaw, S.C. and 2 sisters-in-law, Myra West of Kershaw, S.C. and Sue Baker of Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jesse West, Sr., siblings, Albert Baker, Dotsy Baker, Magdalene Baker, Beatrice Bowers, Odessa Faile, Marie Hancock, Edna Parker and Eleanor Watkins.

A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon, May 24, 2025, at 4:00 P.M.in the sanctuary of Providence Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the burial in the church Fellowship Hall.
