Born in Camden South Carolina March 18th, 1956, he was the son of Shelvie Howell Faile and the late Billy Joe Catoe. Donny graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1975 and worked for General Tire (Continental Tire) for 30 years from which he retired.

He made a lasting impact on the young athletes he coached. He loved watching all sports, especially his Clemson Tigers and NASCAR. He made sure to take his sons to Darlington yearly with his father to watch the time trials. His greatest joy and blessing were his kids and grandkids.

He leaves behind his mother’s Shelvie Faile (Kershaw) and Judy Catoe (Lancaster) and his former wife and mother of his children, Cathy Helms Catoe with whom he shared a lasting friendship. He is also survived by his daughter Jodie Cunningham (Kershaw); Alan Catoe (Heath Springs) and Andy Catoe (Tiarra) Kershaw.
