Daniel Lawrence Campbell

Daniel L. Campbell, of Kershaw, SC was called home to be with the Lord on May 30, 2026, at the age of 85 in the company of his family. Danny was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and lived in South Attleboro/Attleboro, Massachusetts most of his life until moving to South Carolina in 2007.

In his younger days, he took pride in training thoroughbred racehorses and was an independent truck driver in MA and RI. In 1970, he married Solange Campbell (formerly Solange Lemaire) of Quebec, Canada and they were married for 56 years. He was a member at Memorial Baptist Church in Seekonk, MA before moving and becoming a member at Buffalo Baptist Church in Kershaw, SC. Everywhere he went he made friends and enjoyed community.

He was an antique car enthusiast who enjoyed going to car shows and listening to 50's music. In his last days he found his greatest joy spending time with and watching his grandchildren play. We will always remember his incredible wit and sense of humor that could make anyone chuckle (or blush)! And we will cherish how he showed up whenever he was needed, without a second thought.

Danny was tough. He was stubborn. And in true Campbell fashion, he fought hard to the end. Danny was predeceased by his father, Rhode Island state senator, Ambrose Campbell, his mother, Alice Campbell, his sisters, Kathleen Furtado and Judith Edwards, and his cherished brother, Henry Campbell.

Danny is survived by his wife, Solange Campbell, their daughter, Sarah Threatt (Charles Threatt Jr) and his children, Kelley Dion (Jerry Dion), Cheryl Allwright (Dave Allwright), and Daniel M. Campbell (Rhonda Campbell), his grandchildren, Scott Vassar (Megan Vassar), Haylei King (Dylan King), Jessica Dion, Amy Rodrigues (Zachary Rodrigues), Ashley Lacourse (Patrick Lacourse), Alizabeth Spinosa, Daniel R. Campbell (Heather Campbell), and Nicole Fry (Joseph Fry), and his great grandchildren, Malachi Britten, Cameryn Britten, Axle Vassar, Gabriel King, Emalee King, Lydia King, Harrison Rodrigues, Olivia Rodrigues, Avah Lacourse, Jensen Lacourse, Lailah Macias, Amelia Macias, Alanys Campbell, Layla Campbell, Isabella Fry, Emma Fry, and Gracelyn Fry. Danny is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11 o’clock am at Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in Danny's memory to Agape Care Group, South Carolina.
