Charles W. Arant

Charles W. Arant, 87, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, S.C.

Born in Pageland, S.C., he was the son of the late Willie Woodrow Arant and Gladys Greene Arant. Mr. Arant was a graduate of Flat Creek High School and enjoyed a long career as an engineer in the textile industry. A devoted man of faith, he was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities throughout the years, including chairman of the deacons.

Mr. Arant found joy in cutting grass, gardening, camping, and woodworking. A true jack of all trades, there was little he could not build or repair. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

On June 1, 1957, he met the love of his life, Irene Rollings. The two later married and shared 68 wonderful years together, building a life centered on faith, family, and love.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Irene Rollings Arant; his children, Pamela Arant Sims (Stephen), Tim C. Arant, and Tony R. Arant (Melodie); his grandchildren, Justin (Gabby), Nathan, Taylor, Brian, Brittany (Andrew), John (Sarah), Nick, and Chris; his great-grandchildren, Jasmie, Jessica, Annabelle, Cole, Ryder, Marley, Willow, and Blake; and his sisters-in-law, Jo Arant and Linda Arant.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Arant was preceded in death by a grandson, Cory Arant; three brothers, Frank Arant, Jerry Arant, and Johnny Arant; and two sisters, Margie Rollings (Lawrence) and Patricia Sue "Patty" Arant.

A memorial service celebrating Mr. Arant's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the sanctuary of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C. The Rev. Buddy Thomas will officiate.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
