Basil Lee Mcpherson

Memorial services for Basil Lee McPherson, 61 of Bethune will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, at Timrod Baptist Church. Pastor Jackie Knight will officiate. Mr. McPherson died Monday, July 1, 2013, at Regency Hospital, Florence. Born in Bethune, he was the son of the late Walter Graham and Ola Norris McPherson. Mr. McPherson enjoyed looking for arrowheads, cooking, and woodworking. He was also a avid Clemson Tiger fan and was a member of Timrod Baptist Church. Surviving are his sister; Jean Byrd (Rolf) of Sumter, 4 brothers; Donnie McPherson, Hazel McPherson (Janice) both of Bethune, Ray McPherson (Ann) of Lydia, and Gary “John” McPherson (Becky) of Lamar. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Timrod Baptist Church, 4227 Timrod Rd., Bethune, S.C. 29009.
