Allen Jefferson "Jeff" Davis, age 85, of Elgin, S.C. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 9, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Jeff was known for his strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His love of baseball, whether it was watching his grandchildren play or being a part of American Legion Post 17 baseball. He also loved football, whether it was setting the state record for interceptions while in high school, watching his grandson play, or being the equipment manager for Lugoff-Elgin High School. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the countless lives he enriched along the way. Jeff honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from August of 1963 until July of 1967.
Jeff is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Susie Davis. His children, Wendy, Scotty (Toby), and Kathy (Keith). His grandchildren, Samantha (Matt), Brody (Chelsea), and Brianna. His great-grandchildren, Nick (Golden), Skiler, Josh, Jeremy, Isabella and great-great grandchild: Vivian. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
His family and friends will deeply miss his presence while finding comfort in the memories they shared and the lasting example he set through his life.
The funeral service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, S.C. 29229, on Wednesday July 15, 2026, at 11:00 am. Military honors will be rendered by Shaw Air Force Honor Guard. The burial will follow in the cemetery.
Eulogies will be given by: James Rabon (best friend), Nick Kelly (great-grandson), and Brody Boone (grandson)
Jeff's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
