Obituary for William S. Holcomb
A graveside service for William Sanford “Bill” Holcomb, 84, of Kershaw, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2012, in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dale Myers will officiate. Mr. Holcomb died Wednesday, March 7, in KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Ripley, TN. He was the son of the late John Furman and Susie McKee Holcomb. He retired as a car salesman and attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Holcomb enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also served his country in the United States Army. Surviving are his wife Betty Coates Holcomb; 2 sons, Wayne Holcomb (Gayle), William S. “Sandy” Holcomb (Leigh) both of Kershaw; 6 grandchildren, Dwayne Allen Holcomb, Amanda Lynn Mulqueen (Herb), Ricky Holcomb (Jessica), Allison Nicole Holcomb (Benjamin Baker), William Travis Holcomb, Amber Jo Holcomb; 4 great grandchildren, Caleb Wayne Holcomb, Tyler Dean Holcomb, Kameron Dean Baker and Benjamin Wayne Baker; a sister, Monnie George, Millington, TN and a brother, Ted Holcomb, Henning TN. He was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Cheryl Holcomb. The family is at the home, 3887 Old Gerogetown Rd. and will speak to friends following the graveside service in the church Family Life Center.
