Obituary for William N. 'Juicy' Bowers, Sr.
Funeral services for William Nathaniel “ Juicy ” Bowers, Sr., 81 of Kershaw will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. Mr. Bowers died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Providence Hospital, Columbia. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Calvin Chalmers and Jerusha Faile Bowers. He retired from Dupont Company as a control room operator. Mr. Bowers was an avid Atlanta Braves and Carolina Gamecock fan. He enjoyed basketball, baseball and football. He graduated from Barron DeKalb High School where he played on the basketball team . He also was a United States Air Force veteran and enjoyed bowling. Mr. Bowers was a member of New Life Christian Outreach and was married to Sara B. Bowers. Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years of Kershaw are four children, Nathan Bowers (Lisa) of Kershaw, Lynn B. Crenshaw (Mike) of Heath Springs, Keith Bowers of Camden and Allison Bowers of Kershaw; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Riggins (Benji), Mica Parker (Steven), Josh Bowers, Lauren Whitaker (Jonathan), Hannah Bowers, Daniel Bowers and Will Faulkenberry; six great grandchildren and a sister, Suzanne McMullen (Vance) of Jasper, GA. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Ira Brown Catoe. The family will receive friends, Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 123 Oak Ridge Church Road, Kershaw.
