Obituary for William L. "Billy" Bowers
Mr. William Lester “Billy” Bowers, 70, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 3, 2022, with his family by his side. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late Manley Brice Bowers and Mary Louise Player Bowers. Mr. Bowers was the owner of Home Specialties and Bowers Properties, Lancaster, S.C. He was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan. He was a 49-year member of the Gamecock Club. Mr. Bowers served in the National Guard for 6 years and was a member of Oak Ridge A.R.P. Church serving as deacon and in many other various capacities. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge # 53 and a Shriner. Mr. Bowers was a member of the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Inaugural Group for the Carolina Panthers and served on the parent’s council for the College of Charleston from 1991 -1995. He loved traveling to the beach and spending time with his family. His passion was real estate, buying and selling properties.

He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 50 years, Kathy Crenshaw Bowers; 2 sons, W. Marc Bowers, DMD, PA and his wife, Margot of Greenville, S.C., and their children, Carson, Hayes and Wells, B. Chase Bowers and his wife, Elizabeth of Fort Mill, S.C., and their children, Brooks and Hicks and his daughter, Madison B. Cook and her husband, Bob of Fort Mill, S.C. and their daughter, Gregory Louise; his sister, Jeanine B. Gardner of Lancaster, S.C.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis and Gwen Crenshaw; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Lynn Crenshaw all of Heath Springs, S.C. and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Manley B. Bowers, Jr. and a sister, Elaine B. Medlin.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening, July 5, 2022, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C.

A funeral service to remember his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday morning, July 6, 2022, in the sanctuary of Oak Ridge A.R.P. Church, 2774 McIlwain Road, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
