Obituary for William Eric Kidd
A memorial service to celebrate the life of William Eric Kidd, 66, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Pastor Cotton Pate will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Mr. Kidd died Saturday, January 17, 2015, in Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Melwood Elbert and Mary Wandalea Mace Kidd. He was a insulator, a member of Frontline Biker Church, Kershaw, SC and Insulators Union # 80, Charleston, West Virginia. He loved, singing blue grass music, building houses, shooting guns and riding his motorcycle. He had served as a past youth director at his former church and was a Eagle Scout. Mr. Kidd also served in the United States Navy. Surviving are his former wife, Diana L. Kidd of Clearwater, FL; a daughter, Liana R. Woods of Kershaw, SC; three grandchildren, Sean Woods, Tyler Carpenter and Hannah Carpenter; a sister, Joyce Lappin of Collingswood, NJ; four nephews, Jeffery Lappin of Philadelphia, PA, Timothy Lappin of Brooklyn, NY, Mark Tanner of Lake Norman, NC, Nathan Workman of Charlotte, NC; a niece, Heather Workman of Charlotte, NC; a special friend, Tom Nolley and his loving church family at Frontline Biker Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Eric’s memory to Frontline Biker Church-Building Fund, 8617 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067. Baker Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Kidd.
