The couple returned to Kershaw after his Citadel graduation, where Elliott spent over 25 years working in planning management and cost accounting with Kendall Company in Bethune, SC, while Nannie enjoyed a long teaching career at Flat Creek Elementary.

Elliott was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Kershaw and the Fallow Sunday School Class. He was active in the church serving on committees, as an usher, and as a deacon. He served on the Church’s building committee and chaired the special project to further develop and construct Sunday School classrooms, youth education program facilities, and gymnasium.
