Obituary for Ward Beecher Horton, Jr.
Ward Beecher “Belchie” Horton, Jr., 75, of Liberty Hill, S.C., husband, father, grandfather, and brother went home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, January 30, 2022, after a battle with cancer. Beecher was the son of the late Ward Beecher Horton, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Caldwell Horton. He was in management with Springs Industries for thirty-two years. He enjoyed his family, being a cowboy when he was younger, watching westerns and Clemson football as he got older and living on the lake.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lynda Reid Horton, of the home; 3 daughters, Wendy Horton Bartell and her husband, Kevin, Heather Horton Lagasse and her companion, David Sanders, and Meredith Horton Ghent; six grandchildren, McKenna Bartell, Trent Bartell, Tanner Lagasse, Reid Lagasse, Skylar Ghent, and Bree Ghent; a sister, Sheila (David) Shores; a brother Mac (Libby) Horton, and first cousin, Jim (Brenda) Horton, whom he loved like a brother.
A private graveside service for the family will be held in Salem Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C.
Memorial remembrances may be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mr. Horton.
The family would like to thank all who have been praying for him and the family during his illness.
