Vivian Morgan “Teenie” Austin, age 90, of Columbia, S.C. and formerly of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, S.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Robert Lewis Morgan and Hattie Phillips Morgan. She was saved in Flat Creek Baptist Church at the age of 9 years old. She loved Jesus and was a devoted Christian woman. Mrs. Austin was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church and was the co-owner of Salon 4. “Teenie” as she was affectionately known was a cosmetologist for 49 years. She was married to the late James Harold Austin for 38 years.
She is survived by her grandson, David Austin Vaughan and his fiancé, Emily; her granddaughter, Anna Grace Vaughan; 2 brothers, Charles Lewis Morgan and his wife, Sarepta of Kershaw, S.C., Dennis McManus and his wife, Linda of Kershaw, S.C.; a sister, Carolyn Phillips of Kershaw, S.C. and an adopted sister, Carla Owens and her husband, Steven of Kershaw, S.C., a number of nieces and nephews, who she took delight talking with and spending time with. She is also survived by her animals, Lizzy and Lucy. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, David Vaughan and 2 sisters, Annie Grace Young and Pat Ashley.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held immediately following the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the conference center. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may be sent to the charity of one’s choice in her memory.
